During my material science class, we learned about different crystal structures, specifically, FCCs, BCCs, and HCPs. I found these quite interesting and created an FCC atom in SolidWorks. I utilized the dimensions of the atoms and interstitial sites in the structure, along with its specific geometry to build an FCC atom.
I have created a section view for cutting the unit cell in one of the planes, as well as a section view of the close-packed-plane, which for an FCC is the diagonal. This project was very interesting to work on and allowed me to build my understanding of unique crystal structures, along with their traits.
